| Tuwairqi
Steel Mills Limited (TSML) which is in the
process of setting up a state of the art iron
& steel producing out-fit at Bin Qasim
in Karachi. It has a designed capacity of
1.5 million tons per annum and an initial
operational capacity of 1.28 million tons
per annum of Directly Reduced Iron (DRI) &
Billets. It has mandated AMZ Securities (Private)
Limited. (AMZ) to act as its Financial Advisor
& Arranger to raise finance to cater to
the project’s additional funding requirements.

Tuwairqi Steel
Mills Limited, with a state of the art steel
making plant will be the highest iron and
steel producing integrated project in Pakistan,
when completed. Being set up by the Al Tuwairqi
Group of Companies the plant with a capacity
of 1.28 million tons per annum is to use the
worlds most advanced technology to produce
Direct Reduced Iron through the MIDREX process.
The iron thus obtained will be converted into
steel through the Electric Arc Furnace Technology.
The plant shall start producing steel billets
through a 5 strands billet caster of 1.28
million tons per annum capacity to cast liquid
steel into 130x130 , 170x170 mm size billets.
The Government of Pakistan has extended the
status of Export Processing Zone (EPZ) to
Tuwairqi Steel also allowing the plant to
export its total production to Pakistan after
payment of normal duties.
